Join us for a six session course in which we’ll dive into the hidden details of fine tailoring. We will explore construction techniques not found in most commercial pattern instructions. You will learn how to select the proper materials and use them to create the shaping required for a woman’s tailored jacket. Traditional hand tailoring techniques will be used.
We will meet approximately every 3-4 weeks for 2.5 hours on Saturday mornings from 10-12:30 USA Eastern time zone. You will need to do “homework” between sessions. The classes will be recorded in case you can’t join live or want to review.
Course outline:
Session 1: Tools, fabrics, cutting and marking
Session 2: Constructing the front canvas
Session 3: Attaching the front canvas and shaping the lapels
Session 4: Shaping and attaching the collar; Buttonholes
Session 5: Pockets and Sleeves
Session 6: Lining and finishing details
