Meet Felicia Alston, 1st Vice President - Programs

Felicia Alston is the owner of My Crafty Table Sewing and Crafts and the founder of Sew In Love Academy NFP. Felicia learned to sew in vacation bible school. Her mom made her go. She cried all the way there. She’s been sewing ever since. Felicia received her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from Chicago State University. She has attended the Illinois Institute of Art and received her Master’s Degree in Special Education. Felicia worked at Fishman Fabrics and Jerome Fabrics while attending college. She also worked at The Apparel Center as an associate for Myrna Trafman Accessories. She has been sewing and providing sewing instruction to children and adults for 20 years. She works full time as a special education teacher for Chicago Public Schools. Felicia loves learning all things related to sewing and considers herself a “technical maker” of things, not a designer. She is a member of the Apparel Industry Board, Inc, The Englewood Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a 4-H club leader with the University of Illinois Extension Program. She looks forward to serving and inspiring the membership as the Programs Coordinator.
