Meet Renée Liepins, Website and Social Media Chairperson

As the Website and Social Media Chairperson, it is appropriate that I work as the Director of Information Technology for a major Chicago radio station.  Prior to my career in technology, I worked as a costume designer for over 10 years at local Chicago theaters such as Steppenwolf, Court, and Northlight.   I have a BFA in costume design from DePaul University which is where I refined my sewing and pattern drafting skills.  Over the past ten years I have been joining my love of sewing and technology by venturing into digital fabric design and computerized pattern drafting.  I also enjoy hand-embellishment techniques using beading, sequins, and applique.  I like the combination of a very manual sewing process on a garment created using the latest technology.
