Meet Sue Heiss, 2nd Vice President - Membership
Sue Heiss learned how to sew when she was a child, instructed by her grandmother. She received her BA in Fine Art and proceeded to work for the National Endowment for the Arts and then the Illinois Arts Council. She continued sewing for a hobby.
In the late 90’s she chose to focus on Christian ministry. Leaving her work in government arts funding, she devoted her time to working with homeless services through her church community.
Sue became an Islander Sewing Systems Instructor to help the people at the homeless shelter learn these life-enriching, employable skills.
